The Liberal Lion; Jim Morgo and his socialist playbook.

In Suffolk County Republican Committee on October 30, 2009 at 12:57 am

(10-30-2009) At a recent press conference, while trying to deny charges of sexism, Jim Morgo highlighted his empowerment of women through home ownership.

He did this by touting support from more then 40 women in the community. Women that were all liberals, democrats, and recipients of Long Island Housing Partnership homes under Jim Morgo’s leadership during the 1980’s and ‘90s.

What a surprise. Liberal cronies and purchased supporters.

Whether or not Mr. Morgo is a sexist, I don’t know. But what I do know is that he is an advocate or leader of social redistribution programs. As the former 17 year boss of the Long Island Housing Partnership, Mr. Morgo steered millions of NYS tax dollars thru the LIHP to private individuals.

Mr. Morgo is to the Long Island Housing Partnership what President Obama is to ACORN.

Both the LIHP and ACORN are entities that receive governmental funding, both buy supporters through redistribution programs, and both are dangerous to our American way of life.

The LIHP and ACORN playbook is one in the same. Rise to the highest levels of political power by being a champion in the redistribution of wealth.

Mr. Morgo is a socialist housing czar.

Mr. Morgo, the LIHP, and ACORN must be stopped now from spreading their liberal cancer!

“This is a real Paul Revere moment”

In Riverhead on October 29, 2009 at 11:49 pm

(10-29-2009) So Election Day is in 4 days. Can the Conservative Republican tide be reaching Riverhead yet? It’s up to you. This is a real Paul Revere moment.

It comes as no surprise that the Riverhead News Review is endorsing incumbent Democrat Riverhead Town Supervisor Phil Cardinale. This newspaper has had an obvious agenda preventing certain stories from being pursued. Stories that if properly reported would have been damaging to Cardinale’s re-election.

Yet while the Riverhead News Review attempted to explain that they had to be careful because they did not want to report on anything that could “influence this election”, they simultaneously ran a front page personal story on a Republican candidates family member. A story so disgusting, not just because of its content, but because of its blatant attempt to “influence this election.” All while this story had nothing to do with the actual candidate.

In regard to this 2009 town election, the Riverhead News Review in the last few months prevented stories from being pursued, published stories that should not have been pursued, and attempted to edit paid ads that could have “influenced this election.”

The Riverhead News Review has had a blatant political bias no different then the main stream media’s blatant liberal bias.

But why would the reporting of Riverhead news be any different from the reporting of national news? Local people need to realize that local politics is reported on by local media that’s also promoting a that blatant liberal agenda.

This bias, or agenda, is all part of the liberal dots across America that feed into the liberal cancer that is sucking the taxpayers dry and undermining the founding principals of this nation.

Riverhead is not some island separated from these liberal dots. Nor is any other town for that matter.

It is so important to get out the vote on Election Day. Please get out the vote and start defeating the liberal cancer! The Conservative Republican tide is rising!

I urge you to read the following great article by Peter Ferrara - FOXNews.com – October 28, 2009

President Obama, Prepare for a Political Earthquake

The elections on November 3 are shaping up to be a real Paul Revere moment across America.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows Chris Christie, the Republican nominee for Governor in New Jersey, beating the incumbent Democrat John Corzine by 4 points, even with a third party conservative in the race drawing over 10 percent of the vote.

In Virginia, Republican gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell is so far ahead of his Democratic rival Creigh Deeds that Democrats have already begun to argue on the front page of  The Washington Post who is at fault for blowing that race. Overlooked in all coverage of the race for governor is that conservative Ken Cuccinelli, long a stalwart leader for both taxpayers and social conservatives in Virginia, is heading for an even bigger win for Attorney General. With the Virginia governor constitutionally limited to one term in the state, and the Attorney General’s office an historic launching pad for gubernatorial runs, the developing Cuccinelli landslide has more immediate political significance than it would in other states.

In a three-way special congressional election in the 23rd District in New York, a poll on Tuesday showed the Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman beating both the Democratic Party candidate and the liberal Republican in that race, with a 5 point lead, up from a four point lead in poll released on Monday.

Ballot initiatives in two liberal states this November will also have national implications. Liberal Maine is considering a measure that would adopt Colorado’s Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR) for that state. The measure would limit state spending growth to the rate of population growth plus inflation. Tax revenues growing faster than that would be rebated back to taxpayers. State officials could seek a referendum to increase taxes beyond the limit if that was thought necessary.

Last fall, Barack Obama beat John McCain in a 17 point landslide in Maine. But a recent poll showed the TABOR tax limit winning by a 14 point margin. The same TABOR tax limit will also be on the ballot in November in liberal Washington State, where Obama also won a 17 point landslide last fall. The latest poll there showed TABOR winning by a 30 point margin, 61% to 31%.

If all these trends hold true on Election Day, the result will be a political earthquake dramatically upsetting the balance of power in Washington. — If that happens, here’s what will come next: Expect moderate Democrats in Congress to bolt off the reservation, running from the ultra-liberal Obama agenda on taxes, the budget, cap-and-trade, card check, even the health care overhaul scheme. Then, Obama’s domination over Congress will crumble and alternative conservative ideas will gain momentum.

What’s even more significant about Tuesday’s elections is that stage will have been set for an even bigger political earthquake in 2010. Republicans will be in much better shape to recruit good candidates and raise more money. Further adverse results for President Obama’s foreign and domestic policies could produce an even bigger Republican landslide than in 1994.

Conservatives, tea party activists, taxpayers, small businessmen and others need to pay attention to the growing importance of next week’s elections. I urge everyone to get out to vote in these races. Get your like minded friends, relatives and neighbors out to vote as well. Volunteer to help. Maybe you can even provide last minute campaign contributions. Maybe you can engage in fundraising or organize additional volunteers.

This is a real Paul Revere moment. As Brutus said in Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar”: “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; omitted all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries.”

“Nobody wants to come round here no more.”

In Riverhead on October 27, 2009 at 8:48 am

(10-27-2009) Have you looked around Riverhead lately?

Vacant stores, crumbling sidewalks, drug dealing, crack heads, and prostitution are all the classic images of urban decay.

What happened to Riverhead?

After 6 years of Phil Cardinale being town supervisor, is Riverhead better or worse?

Check out this video from two years ago.

Something's got to give

Urban decay

Things have gotten a lot worse since then. Now we have violent street gangs! Why is Cardinale allowing this to happen?

And how about these questions.

Failed Master Developer

Why did Cardinale choose the Apollo Group to be the Master Developer of the downtown? Was it because his cousin Michael Mannetta is the principal architect of that firm? Was anything ever developed by Appollo?

Failed Landfill Reclamation

Why does Cardinale never discuss the $70 million failed landfill reclamation? As chief fiscal officer of the town, how is it that he failed to realize all of the borrowed money for that project was gone before it was even half way completed? Why does he never talk about the $10,000/ day debt the town owes because of that mistake?

Failed Town Watchdog

Why does he reward the town watchdog for that project, Barbara Blass, with an appointment to Deputy Town Supervisor?

Sex Offender Dumping Ground

Why has Cardinale allowed Riverhead to become a county dumping ground for sex offenders?

Failure at EPCAL, Police, and 911 Dispatchers

Why would Cardinale have fire sales at EPCAL, and give away 20 acres of Empire Zone credits, and then complain we don’t have enough money for more police and 911 dispatchers?

Illegal Sand Mining

Why does Cardinale arbitrarily enforce sand mining laws all while knowingly breaking NYS Environmental Law?

Fees and Fines

Why does Cardinale balance the town’s budget with fees and fines all while he refuses to get renovation permits on his own rental property in Jamesport?

Town Audit

Why is Cardinale in violation of NYS Town Law by not releasing the results of the town audit? Why are the results of that audit 1 year past due? Should Riverhead taxpayers be concerned when the auditor is the same firm that Southampton and East Hampton recently fired? Should we be concerned that this was also the same firm with ties to the Roslyn School district scandal?

Aren’t you tired of asking these questions?

Vote for Conservative Republican Sean Walter.

It’s time for a change.

The liberal dots across America

In Socialism Growing, Suffolk County Republican Committee on October 22, 2009 at 9:01 pm

(10-23-2009) The 2010 war has begun.

The opening battles begin on Election Day 2009 in the towns of Islip and Riverhead, New York

It is vital for all patriots to realize that the liberal dots on the map of our once great country are not scattered indiscriminately without rhyme or reason. These liberal dots are connected from President Obama right down to Congressmen Tim Bishop and Steve Israel, straight thru the counties, all the way down to local town halls.

These liberal dots starting at the town halls fester, connect, and feed into a liberal cancer that has seeped into every nook and cranny of our United States.

Like any other cancer, Liberalism must be stopped dead in its tracks by cutting it out from the root. And the root of Liberalism lies in the town halls.

Islip and Riverhead Conservative Republicans are the first to fight back.

Islip is under a formidable Liberal assault, led by none other then Jim Morgo, the Liberal Lion of Long Island. Jim Morgo is a proud Liberal with a 26 year illustrious democratic political career, 17 of which being a socialized housing czar. Mr. Morgo has amassed a wealth of insiders, ties, and connections to everything that’s wrong with Long Island today. Ties and connections so powerful he was able to convince a group of prominent sellout Republicans to become turncoat cross endorsers. Mr. Morgo must be stopped.

Jim Morgo - The Liberal Lion of Long Island

Jim Morgo - The Liberal Lion of Long Island

Islip’s other cancerous enemy comes from town councilmen Chris Bodkin. Bodkin is the most senior member of the Islip Town Board and has been taking a public pay check for 12 years. Bodkin as Islip Town Councilman just supported giving big raises to top level appointees all while giving Pink Slips to 70 Low-Level Employees! The one time Bodkin’s asked to “give back”, he didn’t even have the guts to second a motion to do so. Bodkin has got to go!

Bodkin supported "discretionary raises" to a number of high-level officials all while announcing plans to lay off 70 low level employees to balance the budget.

Bodkin supported "discretionary raises" to a number of high-level officials all while announcing plans to lay off 70 low level employees to balance the budget.

The Liberal assault continues in Riverhead.

The Riverhead cancer is led by Phil Cardinale. Under Supervisor Cardinale’s leadership, the town of Riverhead has fallen into a state of economic ruin. From a failed town dump reclamation costing $70 million, to lack of development at EPCAL, to a downtown ridden with vacant storefronts, violent street gangs, prostitution, drug dealing, and a failed master developer. For anyone knowing NYC history, Cardinale makes David Dinkins look like Rudy Guiliani.

Cardinale is a complete and utter failure.

Cardinale is a complete and utter failure.

Cardinale’s leadership has been one of lies, false hopes, empty promises, and economic waste. His leadership has been a complete and utter failure.

Cardinale has to go!

His liberal cohorts Shirley Coverdale, Kathy Berezny, and communist propagandist John Stefans, if elected, will drive Riverhead straight to its burial. These liberals must also be stopped.

Help us help the Islip and Riverhead Republicans! Let us together fight this liberal cancer at the root beginning, the town halls!

And lets continue this fight through every connected cancerous dot right back to a 2012 victory celebration in Washington.

From my cold dead hands

In Socialism Growing on October 20, 2009 at 11:00 pm

(10-21-2009) Every now and then President Obama will mention community service. Next thing you know he’s mentioning volunteerism.

The other day President Obama was at Texas A&M University promoting service at a forum hosted by former President George H.W. Bush.

While it is important to note that Bush was the first president to create a permanent White House office dedicated to promoting volunteerism, President Obama is promoting service.

Service

President Barack Obama is welcomed by former President George H. W. Bush, left, at Texas A&M University to mark the 20th anniversary of the Points of Light community service movement Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 in College Station, Texas

President Barack Obama is welcomed by former President George H. W. Bush, left, at Texas A&M University to mark the 20th anniversary of the Points of Light community service movement Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 in College Station, Texas

While speaking to the crowd, President Obama stated, “In the end, service binds us to each other and to our community and to our country in a way that nothing else can.”

So where is this going?

Well recently President Obama initiated a “United We Serve.”

And you can visit a nice website online  http://www.serve.gov/ where you can find service opportunities.

You can even visit the White House online at http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/Service/ and learn of service issues such as “progress, civic engagement, and rewarding innovative solutions to pressing social problems.”

It seems like every day the word service seems to be everywhere. What’s with all this talk of service?

For anyone that has been following President Obama’s meteoric rise to power, service is not a new word. It’s not some new idea or some public relations strategy to take our eye off the economy.

This is real service. And it’s coming at warp speed.

It was one year ago when I wrote;

Their Obama’s children, not yours?

(Published 2008-10-16 Village Beacon)

Are you ready for real change? Ready to give up your parental rights?

In a recent campaign speech, Barack Obama stated, “I won’t just ask for your vote as a candidate; I will ask for your service and your active citizenship when I am president of the United States. This will not be a call issued in one speech or program; this will be a cause of my presidency.”

What kind of service?

According to Obama’s official website, “Obama and Biden will set a goal that all middle and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year. They will develop national guidelines for service-learning and will give schools better tools both to develop programs and to document student experience.” Additionally, “college students would perform 100 hours of service each year.”

His plan is instituting mandatory youth service. Basically all children and young adults over the age of 11 will be required to serve if Obama gets elected.

Obama has already given this youth service plan a name: Universal Voluntary Public Service. But it’s voluntary? Not really. Obama states, “At the middle and high school level, we’ll make federal assistance conditional on school districts developing service programs, and give schools resources to offer new service opportunities. At the community level, we’ll develop public-private partnerships so students can serve more outside the classroom.” So if school districts don’t participate they get cut off from federal funds. But what if parents don’t want their kids to participate?

Parents should be aware that this Universal Voluntary Public Service, UVPS, is already modeled after an existing program called Public Allies. And in 1992, Obama was one of its founding board members. In 1993, his wife became the executive director of Public Allies Chicago.

What is Public Allies? In recent tax filings, Public Allies provided in a written document that “Our alumni are more than twice as likely as 18-34 year olds to engage in protest activities.” It has been reported that, “When they’re not protesting, they’re staffing AIDS clinics, handing out condoms, bailing criminals out of jail, and helping illegal aliens and the homeless obtain food stamps and other welfare.”

Not all Public Allies recruits appreciate this radicalism. One PA graduate stated, “It’s a lot of talk about race, a lot of talk about sexism, a lot of talk about homophobia, talk about -isms and phobias.” At a Public Allies training seminar in Chicago, one of those “isms” was described as “heterosexism”, which was described as a negative byproduct of “capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and male-dominated privilege.”

Where does PA get its funding? Half of its funding comes from Bill Clinton’s AmeriCorps. Our tax dollars. But Obama’s plan is to now fully fund it, and to expand it into his national service plan. Hence the new name Universal Voluntary Public Service.

Do you trust Obama with educating your child? Are you willing to have your child indoctrinated and forced to serve his voluntary program?

It has been noted that Obama has, “spent decades aiding and abetting people that hate America.” People like Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn from the Weather Underground, Ali Abunimah from Chicago-based Arab American Action Network, Louis Farrakhan from the Nation of Islam, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Marilyn Katz from the Students for a Democratic Society, Marxist Carl Davidson, and racist Dorothy Tillman. The list could keep going.

Imagine the impact of millions of Obama youth serving outside the classroom that have been indoctrinated by the likes of Obama’s friends and mentors. Is his plan to put a pretty face on radicalism and make it mainstream? Is this what he means by “change?”

Do our children belong to the charismatic Obama? This will not be the first time that mandatory national youth service has been instituted. Both parents and children should start doing their homework.

That was then.

Now let me ask you, how many more radicals have been uncovered since then? And what do you think President Obama’s original intentions were when he wanted to talk to school children?

This is all what President Obama means when you hear service.

What makes this even more outrageous is this. How much more can we give? We already spend half of every day working for the government. Now he wants us to serve the community? Serve the government? And as if that’s not enough, he wants our children to serve also?

You can sugar coat it all you want, when government institutes mandatory youth service, or any kind of service, we will become slaves.

It wasn’t that long ago when in defense of 2nd Amendment Rights, Charlton Heston declared, “From my cold dead hands!”

From my cold dead hands!

From my cold dead hands!

What will people declare when they are forced to defend their children’s rights?

Do Congressman Tim Bishop and Steve Israel support mandatory youth service?

Call them and ask them.

The Republican Wall of Shame

In Riverhead, Suffolk County Republican Committee, The 9-12 Project on October 18, 2009 at 1:48 am

(10-18-2009) Before we get to the unveiling of the Republican Wall of Shame it is important to mention the events leading up to it and why it was created.

The Suffolk County Republican Party recently elected John Jay LaValle as the new Chairmen of the Suffolk County Republican Committee. That is a very good thing because the outgoing Suffolk GOP Chairman Harry Withers was a cross endorsing Republicrat.

So like any other other interested registered Republican I went to the Suffolk GOP website to check out the news and announcements. While there, I quickly noticed Join the Republican Revolution.

And I thought to myself, Join the Republican Revolution? Oh yes, there is a revolution. And yes it has already started. But the revolution was not started by Republicans.

The revolution was started by local grass roots groups that organized, planned, and implemented passionate, successful, and patriotic tea parties. These tea parties symbolized and re-enacted a pivotal chapter in American history; the birth of our nation, which was founded on the principals of liberty and the disdain of big government. The spirited people that have joined these tea parties are all true believers in these founding American principals. They started the revolution.

And these grass roots groups, or Tea Partier’s, represent everyday people from every walk of life. Most of these people have never taken part in political activism before. This activism is fueled by disgust, frustration and anger with the elected leaders from both sides of the political aisle.

Early on local Republican Committees dismissed these tea partier’s as kooks and radicals.

But it was only a matter of time before national GOP organizations realized that most of these Tea Partier’s were disenfranchised Republicans and they were the key to rebuilding the party. And the key to recapturing the  long lost Republican message.

Out in Riverhead, one grass roots organization is helping the Riverhead GOP rebuild. The Suffolk 9-12 group is volunteering for various town campaigns. Why? Because Riverhead has candidates that are true Republicans. Candidates that are private citizens with successful business credentials. Candidates that believe in limited government. Candidates that are not political insiders. Candidates that believe government is, always has been, and always will be the problem.

But I’m not writing to you about the successful teamwork and partnership between the Riverhead GOP and the Suffolk 9-12 Group. A partnership I might add that’s striving to reach common goals.

I’m writing to warn the Suffolk County Republican Committee that their credibility is being called into question.

While it is understandable that the new Chairman is just getting started in his new position as leader of all Suffolk County Republicans. He needs to come out and make a very strong statement regarding an urgent matter.

There can be no more Republicans cross endorsing any Democrats!

If Mr. LaValle chooses not to, all the upcoming elections will be thrown into jeopardy. And the only revolution will be a revolution within the ranks of the Republican Party.

By not denouncing the cross endorsements of Democrats by Republicans, it will severely damage the Republican cause and undermine all efforts to build coalitions with these various grass roots organizations. It is important for Mr. LaValle to realize that these spirited activists, these very coalitions, represent that last great hope for Republicans, and for all of Long Island.

Having said all that, I would now like to turn your attention to the Islip Town campaign.

The following is taken from Newsday:

(October 15, 2009) Islip: Democrat Morgo, board candidate, touts GOP backers

Jim Morgo, Democratic County Executive Steve Levy’s former chief deputy, who is running for Islip Town council, today trotted out some well-known local Republicans, including former Suffolk County Executive Robert Gaffney (in file photo), former Islip Town Councilman Brian Ferruggiari and Bay Shore attorney Lisa Pace, of the prominent Republican West Islip family.

The attendees — members of “Republicans for Jim Morgo” — endorsed Morgo as well as his running mate, incumbent Councilman Christopher Bodkin, who switched to blue in 2007 after serving as a Republican for 14 years.

Rounding out the Republicans were Bob McMillan, the former US Senate candidate, and founder of the Long Island Housing Partnership, and Kathy Brand, executive director of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation — whose younger sister, a single mother, was selected by lottery to purchase an affordable townhouse through a Long Island Housing Partnership program.

Morgo was the first president and CEO of the housing partnership.

Also from Newsday:

(October 15, 2009) Cross-party, cross-border: Sign comes down in Suffolk

A campaign sign for James Morgo and Chris Bodkin, Democrats running for Islip town board, came down last week — in Brookhaven.

It was on private property, on the well-trafficked corner of Nicolls Road and Montauk Highway — belonging to Republican Brookhaven Councilman Tim Mazzei, a longtime friend of Morgo’s who was a student when Morgo taught high school English in Bayport.

Seems the sign was removed after GOP objections reached Mazzei. Frank Tantone, the new Islip Republican leader, said he called Jesse Garcia, Brookhaven GOP chairman, after hearing it was posted there.

“I understand, we all have friendships that cross party lines,” Tantone said today. “But it’s inappropriate for a councilman in one town” to be part of a campaign in another town for the opposite party, he said.

UPDATE:  Mazzei was reluctant to remove the sign based solely on these objections — but finally did so after Morgo called him and said, “If it’s giving you a hard time, just take it down.”

It is now important to note that this cross endorsement is not just like any other cross endorsement.

Jim Morgo is no ordinary Democrat. Jim Morgo has a very long and distinguished career in politics. And Jim Morgo is a self proclaimed proud liberal.

Jim Morgo - The Liberal Lion of Long Island

Jim Morgo - The Liberal Lion of Long Island

Jim Morgo’s political career started in 1984 as a Democratic Suffolk County Legislator. By 1988, he left political office for a 17 year career as the First President and CEO of the Long Island Housing Partnership, the region’s preeminent facilitator of socialized housing projects. After that reign, he joined Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy’s administration and held various key economic posts, culminating with Chief Deputy County Executive of Suffolk County.

After 26 years of an illustrious democratic political career, 17 of which being a socialized housing czar, Mr. Morgo has amassed a wealth of insiders, ties, and connections to everything that’s wrong with Long Island today.

Mr. Morgo is a champion in democrat circles.

Mr. Morgo is the Liberal Lion of Long Island.

Which make his cross endorsement the most damaging blow to the credibility of the whole Suffolk County Republican Party.

Not to mention the damage to the Islip Republican Committee and their candidates; incumbent Councilman Steven Flotteron and political newcomer Trish Bergin.

I therefore urge all Republican, Conservative, and Libertarian minded people of Suffolk County to do the following:

1. Contact Suffolk County Republican Chairman John Jay LaValle and urge him to denounce these cross endorsements. Ask him also to withdraw the Republican registrations of all endorsers.

Phone: (631) 580-1482

2. Contact Brookhaven Town Councilman Tim Mazzei and express your outrage.

3. Contact Islip Town Republican Chairman Frank A. Tantone, Councilman Steven Flotteron, and Candidate Trish Bergen and offer your enormous overwhelming support to defeat the Liberal Lion of Long Island and his cross endorsing insider agents. But you must hurry. There are only around 3 weeks left until the election.

Is Dick Amper still a legitimate environmental activist?

In Environment, Riverhead on October 15, 2009 at 12:18 am

(10-15-2009) Has anyone seen or heard from Dick Amper and the Long Island Pine Barrens Society? Where are they?

Is Dick Amper still a legitimate environmental activist?

The evidence is now unfolding in what could be the greatest town created environmental disaster in history, which was caused by Riverhead town elected officials conducting a massive illegal sand mining operation that went so deep it reached ground water.

An environmental disaster?

An environmental disaster?

Yet Dick Amper, the executive director of the Long Island Pine Barrens Society, remains conspicuously silent?

Where are you Mr. Amper? Your silence is deafening.

The integrity of Mr. Amper and his environmental group is now being called into question. Because wouldn’t an environmental advocacy organization focused on protecting drinking water and preserving open space have something to say about a massive illegal sand mining operation that reached ground water?

Wouldn’t this organization especially have something to say about an environmental crime committed by elected officials?

As Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy recently commented, “I began to notice that he (Mr. Amper) became conspicuously silent about certain projects in the pine barrens….”  You’re not alone Mr. County Executive; Riverhead taxpayers are also noticing the same thing.

Is Mr. Amper nothing more then “a bullying, self promoting opportunist” as the county executive recently suggested? The evidence is certainly leaning in that direction.

Because if Mr. Amper was a legitimate environmental activist, he would have something to say about this environmental crime committed by Riverhead Town elected officials.

Is Mr. Amper’s current silence further proof that the Long Island Pine Barrens Society engages in back room deal making politics that results in selective environmental activism?

If so, how much longer before Mr. Amper and the Pine Barrens Society are deemed illegitimate?

Riverhead Supervisor Phil Cardinale wins bogus political insider award!

In Riverhead on October 14, 2009 at 2:23 am

Oct. 14, 2009 – Supervisor Phil Cardinale recently announced that the Long Island Business Development Council (LIBDC) had bestowed its Municipality Economic Development Award on the Town of Riverhead for its efforts in the development of the EPCAL property.

Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent.

According to their very own website, the LIBDC “is comprised of major government officials from Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York State, as well as County, Town and Village Industrial Development agencies and Economic Development departments.

“The LIBDC’s membership also includes influential bankers, real estate brokers, builders, developers, utilities, corporations, colleges, universities, law firms, accountants, newspaper publishers, and many other interested parties.”

The LIBDC helps its members form a close association with each other while providing a platform for an honest evaluation of Long Island’s economy and future.”

It looks to me like this fraternity of influential self preserving backslappers that all have in one shape or form made a very good living off the public dime; are circling the wagons around Phil Cardinale as the Riverhead Town elections are rapidly approaching.

“This award highlights the efforts that Riverhead has made to move the development process forward at EPCAL and recognizes that the Town has been faithful to the goal of the site becoming a regional economic engine,” stated Cardinale. “When questions have been raised about Riverhead Town’s openness to business, we have always emphasized our economic development goals for EPCAL, Downtown Main Street and Route 58 as evidence of our welcoming attitude towards business. The Long Island Business Development Council, composed of members from banks, development firms, law firms and other professions has clearly recognized this with its award today,” Cardinale noted.

Let me guess Riverhead. First you laughed, and then you got mad as hell?

Because how could a legitimate organization give an economic prize to a 6 year Town Supervisor that is directly responsible for economic failure?

How could a legitimate organization give an economic award to a Town Supervisor responsible for nothing more then a downtown filled with false hopes, empty promises, finger pointing, lies, gangs, prostitution, a sex offender sanctuary, slum lords, vacant storefronts, and don’t forget a failed master developer?

How could a legitimate organization give an economic award to a Town Supervisor for his efforts in the development of the EPCAL property when his single greatest accomplishment has been the lack of development?

This award represents nothing more then an inside joke. And its being told by the bloated insiders of this meaningless fraternity.

On Friday October 8, 2009, the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation issued a notice of violation to the town of Riverhead for missing sand from town property.

Last week, Riverhead Town Councilmen John Dunleavy reported to this blog about the possibility that an elected official in the Town of Riverhead had potentially broken the law regarding illegal sand mining on town owned property.

After conducting his own field investigation, Mr. Dunleavy observed that sand mining had been going on recently in an area that had grown in size and depth. In fact the depth of the mining was so low; it had reached ground water.

Mr. Dunleavy had immediately reported his findings to Riverhead Town Supervisor Phil Cardinale, only for Mr. Cardinale to remove Mr. Dunleavy from his position as Highway Department Liaison a few weeks later.

While the investigation is still ongoing, it is important to note that according to the Riverhead News Review; “while Highway Superintendent George Woodson was gathering highway department logs requested by the News-Review through the Freedom of Information Law, Mr. Woodson said Tuesday (Oct. 6) that it appeared he had entered the site more times than he remembered, though he still could not say exactly how much sand he took.”

The bottom line is this.

As this investigation unfolds, it will be discovered that somewhere someone in the Town of Riverhead knew of this illegal environmental activity.

As this blog wrote last week with The Teflon Supervisor, look no further then the Town Supervisor Phil Cardinale and Highway Superintendent George Woodson.

It is important for all taxpayers to bring forward any information regarding any and all illegal governmental activity.

This blog will continue to push forward the truth and continue to be a voice against governmental arrogance, hypocricy, destructiveness, waste, and illegalities.

I promise you that there will be no rock unturned.

Much more to come….

Suffolk 9-12 Project Update

In Riverhead, Riverhead Republican Committee, The 9-12 Project on October 3, 2009 at 9:25 pm

Meet the Candidates Night

On September 29, 2009, The Suffolk 9-12 Project held its very first “Meet the Candidates Night” at the Riverhead Polish Hall. The event was organized by the 9-12 group’s President Bob Meyer and Assistant Organizer Joe Vullo. It was a major success. Over 85 patriots attended!

Following a highly successful nation protest, the Suffolk 9-12 Project has directed their activism to local, town, and county issues. The Liberty Bell is ringing and the revolution has begun.

Several members of the group have since been seen volunteering their time to the various campaigns of candidates that were in attendance!

The local candidates that were in attendance were:

Riverhead Candidates

Riverhead Town Councilmen John Dunleavy, Republican

Sean Walter, Town Supervisor, Republican

Jodi Giglio, Town Council, Republican

George Gabrielson, Town, Republican

Joe Densieski, Town Highway Superintendent, Republican

Linda Hulse, Town Clerk, Republican

Brookhaven Candidates

Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Conservative

1st Congressional District Candidates

Fred Meyer, Republican

Richard Blumenthal, Republican

Jim Staudenraus, Republican

Suffolk County Sheriff

Steven Kosin, Libertarian

Here’s what some 9-12’ers are saying:

George Kelly

“ Bob, Joe, and Rich put together a great event. The candidates managed to be informative and give us a good snapshot of their views and character despite the time constraints. Thanks to Fred Meyer who toughed it out after actually having knee surgery earlier in the day. The questions from our well informed members touched on a broad range of local and national issues. When the slate of candidates for the Riverhead positions sweep next month things will be looking up for Riverhead! ”

Suzie

“ What a great night! It was so positive; I left feeling very hopeful. We have a choice among very good candidates for CD1. I planned on zoning out for Brookhaven & Riverhead candidates, but couldn’t; they, too, were so sharp. I took notes while reminding myself I can’t vote for them. I’d say Riverhead’s future is looking up. Who would have believed 6 months ago that any of this would be happening? Thanks! ”

Bob Meyer

“ This was a great event. Everything went smoother than anticipated and the candidates were all very informative. Now we all need to choose candidates to support and get them elected. Washington is watching to see if our movement is for real. Let’s show them how we can impact the 2009 outcome. Please dedicate some time to a candidate of your choice and make a difference. ”

A Party of Arrogance

In Riverhead on October 1, 2009 at 1:29 am

Check out the 2009 Riverhead Town Democratic Candidates that were screened and approved by the Riverhead Democratic Committee for the following elective offices:

Donkey

Phil Cardinale, Town Supervisor

A Town Supervisor with aspirations of becoming a judge; who is arbitrarily enforcing sand mining laws all while knowingly breaking New York State Environmental Law.

Appoints Councilwoman Barbara Blass to Deputy Town Supervisor. Ms. Blass was the Riverhead Town watchdog during the failed Town Landfill Reclamation that cost the taxpayers $70 million dollars. He is then quoted on the Wading River Civic Association website, “Supervisor Phil Cardinale has indicated he hopes to convince Blass to remain in that position when her term expires.”

Is Supervisor Cardinale rewarding Ms. Blass for keeping her mouth shut?

Several months ago Councilwoman Barbara Blass stated in a published Riverhead News Review interview the following: “I think, ultimately, all of the facts will come out. Don’t forget that at the time there were a lot of forces that were operating behind the scenes to make sure that project didn’t conclude. A lot of what was happening behind the scenes had to do with the sand mining industry, the carting industry, the trucking industry, the asphalt industry, and they were all operative in that project, without a doubt. And that’s about as far as I can go on that.”

It was recently stated, “”She has institutional knowledge that goes back many, many years” “She has the knowledge of how things got to be the way they are, which is very important when you make decisions.”

Maybe Ms. Blass and Mr. Cardinale should share that knowledge with the public?

Let’s look at the rest of them:

George “Gio” Woodson, Superintendent of Highways

A career Highway Department employee turned Highway Superintendent giving the order to sandmine without a required permit from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation; which is a blatant violation of NYS Environmental Law.

Kathy Berezny, Candidate for Town Council

On September 30, 2009 distributed campaign literature on town property at the Riverhead Town Senior Center; which is a blatant violation of election law.

Member of the Riverhead School District Board of Education that recently proposed a $120 million dollar school expansion while local taxpayers are struggling to make ends meet in the worst economy seen since the Great Depression.

Shirley E. Coverdale, Candidate for Town Council

On September 30, 2009 distributed campaign literature on town property at the Riverhead Town Senior Center; which is a blatant violation of election law.

And don’t forget about John Stefans, Candidate for Town Council

In Feb 2009, in a published Riverhead News Review OP-ED, wrote about a “brilliant” book he had just read; “The Defining Moment: FDR’s Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope”, by Jonathan Alter.

Mr. Stefans then proceeded to compare and contrast the financial crises we are facing today with the financial crises in 1933.

“Back then, many Americans were even in favor of giving FDR authority beyond which the Constitution allows if that’s what it took to dig the nation out of its misery.”

“A mild species of dictatorship will help us over the rough spots in the road ahead.”

“The situation is critical, Franklin. You may have no alternative but to assume dictatorial powers.”

Then laments, “Contrast this with the Republicans’ lack of support for President Obama’s stimulus bill.”

Is Mr. Stefans promoting an Obama dictatorship?

You be the Judge. Check out Mr. Stefans published OP-ED yourself.
